The Vermont Corporate Cup Challenge and State Agency Race is a 5 kilometer team running/walking event open to businesses, government and non-profit organizations in Vermont. The purpose of this event is to promote physical fitness within the workplace and at home by bringing employees together to enjoy and experience the benefits of fitness.
The proceeds from this event benefit the many programs and events of the Vermont Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
Any Vermont employer may enter as many teams as desired. All qualified teams must consist of 3 persons, the age of each participant must be at least 16 years old (with parental permission) and they must be employees, part or full time or retirees of the same employer.
If you work for the State of Vermont then your team must consist of individuals from the same Agency so that there will be consistency with the ongoing philosophy of this event. A violation of this rule will result in disqualification of your team.
New This Year:OPEN CATEGORY: This category is to be used for those individual's who cannot form a traditional team from their respective work location due to: Unemployment, self employment, disinterested co workers that do not allow for a team at their place of work etc.
Teams from this category will be considered a team of one only. They will not compete against other teams and will not be listed under team results but will be listed in the overall results only. The cost per person remains the same. ($18.00 per person and $25.00 after April 26, 2010) Due to the large number of individuals employed within State of Vermont Governmental Agencies, State Employees are not allowed to utilize this category.
This category is designed to be inclusive of individuals who want to participate but due to no fault of their own have no fellow employees from which to form a team.
